Yukiji joined HSS in 2014 and focuses on the Hospital’s life science technologies. She takes pride in being accessible, educating and connecting with our inventors. She is passionate about early stage technologies and will listen to ideas that are drawn on napkins and even ideas that haven’t even made it to the napkin stage yet. In her role, she works with the Innovation leadership team to identify new incoming innovative ideas; helps manage the Hospital’s patent portfolio; writes grants to help secure funding; and works with our inventors to develop the scientific and clinical research, intellectual property, and commercial potential that form the foundation of promising breakthrough products.
Before joining HSS, Yukiji earned her doctorate in Chemistry from Stony Brook University and a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College. Yukiji also earned a certificate from the Fundamentals of the Bioscience Industry program that was sponsored by the New York State Foundation for Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR), where she gained experience in the commercialization process within the life sciences industry.
As a native New Yorker, Yukiji is committed to support the development of NYC and Long Island in life sciences entrepreneurship as a mentor for future promising innovators.
